Tamara Still has been Music Associate at Trinity and on the faculty at Marylhurst University since 2005. She holds graduate degrees from the University of Washington and the University of California at Los Angeles and a Performance Certificate from the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. She also studied with the renowned composer and organist Naji Hakim in Paris.
A recipient of numerous scholarships and performance awards, in 1991 Dr. Still was winner of the Northwest Region Young Artists Competition of the American Guild of Organists. In 1993, she was a finalist for the Naples International Competition for Organists.
Dr. Still has played concerts in England, the Netherlands, Canada and in cities across the United States, at international music festivals, at conventions of the American Guild of Organists and The Organ Historical Society and in concerts with the Seattle Symphony. Her performances on radio include appearances with Orchestra Seattle and as soloist at St. Mark's Cathedral, Seattle. Dr. Still's work on historical organs has won her grants for her research and recordings on tracker instruments. Before moving to Portland, she served on the faculty at Seattle Pacific University where she conducted the Women's Choir and taught organ and harpsichord. As Co-Director of Music and Organist at The Church of the Epiphany in Seattle she founded a school for the arts that provided instruction in music and the fine arts for children.
